Freaked Out
Freaked Out is the seventh book in the Beacon Street Girls series by Annie Bryant. It was released in 2006 by B*tween Productions, Inc.. In the book, all of the Beacon Street girls get invitations to popular girl Julie Faber's party.. except Avery. The BSG are disappointed about Avery being excluded, but the rest are eager to go to the party. Eventually, Isabel cannot go to the party either, so she and Avery volunteer in a cancer ward at a hospital fundraiser. Julie Faber's party ends up being crashed by several eighth-grade boys, and leaves the guests in an uncomfterable situation. Tim Cole, part of the gang of boys, asks Maeve to dance. She almost accepts, but then discovers that Tim has been drinking. Upon her refeusal, Tim gets angry and throws up right at the party. Shortly afterwards, the BSG leave and Katani tells the Fabers about what happened, so the rest of the guests leave as well.
Note: In the back of this book, there is an interview with Dr. John Knight on alcohol. Dr. Knight was one of the professors consulted by the authors, since before the publication of every book the book is checked by leading experts on the subject. Also included in the extras is a list of reasons not to use alcohol, vocabulary words (titled 'Word Nerd' and supposedly written by Charlotte), and a sneak preview at book eight, "Lucky Charm."
